How this directory works
Driving Schools in Dublin is an independent directory of driving schools and driving instructors who teach in Dublin city and county. It is not run by the RSA and it does not sell lessons.
Everything is taken from each school's own website
Every school on this site has its own website, and that website is where the facts come from. We find schools through ordinary web searches for driving schools and driving lessons in each part of Dublin, then fetch each school's site and check three things: that it names the school, that it teaches in Dublin (an address, an Eircode, an Irish phone number, or the areas it says it covers), and that it is a driving school rather than a directory, a job board or a social profile. Sites that fail any of these are not listed. We never use the RSA's register of instructors as a data source, because it is not published as open data and contains personal details.
A few listings start from OpenStreetMap, which maps driving schools with premises. Those are marked with OpenStreetMap's attribution and are checked the same way before they get a full profile.
What a full profile means
A school gets a full profile, and its page is included in search engines, only when its website has been checked and we have written a description of our own, 50 to 80 words, from what the site says. The description names what the school offers (EDT, pre-tests, automatic or manual, areas covered, test centres) and nothing that is not on the site. No stars, no reviews, no rankings. Where a school's site publishes a price, we show it as published and say when it was last checked.
Order of listings
Listings are ordered the same way for everyone: schools with a full profile first, then alphabetically. Nobody can pay to move up.
Partners
Some schools pay for a Partner profile or a sponsored feature article. Those are labelled Partner wherever they appear, in the same position on every card, and the paid links carry the attributes search engines expect for paid placements. In the normal listings a Partner is shown in the same order as everyone else. Partners are businesses we work with commercially. Driving Schools in Dublin is run by Talaso BrandLab, a web design studio in Dublin. Partner profiles are paid, and if a school we list ever becomes a client of the studio, its listing will say so.
Correct or remove a listing
If you run a school and something is wrong, or you want your school removed, email hello@drivingschoolsindublin.com from an address at your own domain, with the link to the listing. Corrections are free and usually live within two working days.
What we never state ourselves
The RSA's register of Approved Driving Instructors is not open data, so this site never says on its own authority that an instructor is RSA approved or an ADI. Where a school's own website says so, the listing repeats it as the school's claim. We publish no test routes: the RSA does not publish them, and nobody can promise you one.
What this site is not
It is not the RSA, it does not book tests, it does not hold your EDT record and it cannot tell you a test waiting time. For all of that use rsa.ie and MyRoadSafety.
