Test centres
Everything is organised around the centre: pick it first, then the school
A driving test centre is the place the RSA examiner meets you and where your test starts and ends.
For Dublin the RSA lists seven: Killester on the Howth Road for the north-east, Finglas and Mulhuddart Maple House for the north and Dublin 11, Mulhuddart on the Old Navan Road for Dublin 15, Tallaght for the south-west, Dún Laoghaire at Pottery Road (the one everyone calls Deansgrange) for the south-east, and Leixlip, which is in Kildare but serves Lucan and the west of the city. All seven test category B, the ordinary car licence, and most also test motorcycles, trucks and buses.
Pick the centre first, then the school. The test starts at the centre door, so the roads you practise on should be the ones around it: the roundabouts on the N3 for Mulhuddart, the Howth Road for Killester, the N11 for Deansgrange. Each centre page on this site describes those roads in plain words and lists the schools that say they prepare learners for it.
Waiting times change month to month and differ a lot between centres; Tallaght has had the longest queue in recent years. The RSA's own estimator on MyRoadSafety is the only reliable source for those figures, and this site does not repeat them. Addresses and Eircodes here are copied from the RSA's list and checked when the site is rebuilt.
