Driving schools in Dublin 6

Dublin 6 is Rathmines, Ranelagh, Rathgar, Dartry and Milltown, the old Victorian suburbs just south of the Grand Canal. Learning here means lots of parked cars. The red-brick streets off Rathmines Road and Rathgar Road are narrow, two-way and lined with cars on both sides, so a lesson is as much about judging width and giving way as it is about speed. The main roads, Rathmines Road, Ranelagh Road and Harold's Cross Road, carry heavy bus traffic in both directions, with bus lanes that operate at peak times only, and the whole district is a 30 km/h zone apart from a few sections of the arterials. Ranelagh village and the junction at Rathmines town hall are busy from early morning until well after dark. The Luas Green line stops at Ranelagh, Beechwood, Cowper and Milltown, and buses run every few minutes along the main roads. There is no test centre in Dublin 6. Tallaght is about 9 km to the south-west by Terenure and the Templeogue Road, and Dún Laoghaire/Deansgrange about the same distance south-east by Milltown and the N11. Many schools that list Dublin 6 are based further out and collect learners here.
