Driving schools in Skerries

Skerries is a harbour town on the north Fingal coast, between Rush and Balbriggan, with a long seafront and a compact centre. Learners here spend time on the Strand Street and the Harbour Road, which are narrow, one-way in parts and busy with parked cars and pedestrians, especially in summer. The estates on the Dublin Road and the Balbriggan Road are 30 km/h with roundabouts and wide verges, and the Skerries Road to Lusk and the R127 to Balbriggan are rural single carriageways at 80 km/h with bends and farm traffic. The M1 is about ten minutes away at Lusk or Balbriggan for motorway practice. Hills are few, but the approach to the harbour and the Mill road bring gradients for hill starts. Traffic is light in the week and heavy on sunny weekends. The nearest RSA test centres are Finglas and Mulhuddart Maple House, about thirty kilometres south by the M1 and the M50, so schools here usually suggest a lesson or two on the roads around the centre before the test. Skerries has a station on the Belfast commuter line and buses to the city centre run along the R127 and the R132.
