Driving schools in Dublin 4

Dublin 4 is Ballsbridge, Donnybrook, Sandymount, Ringsend and Irishtown, the stretch between the city centre and the coast. The roads here are a good mix for a learner. Residential streets in Sandymount and around Herbert Park are wide, mostly 30 km/h and quiet outside school hours. Merrion Road and the Stillorgan Road, which becomes the N11, are busy dual carriageways with bus lanes and right-turn filters that take some getting used to. Donnybrook on a rugby day and the Sean Moore Road around the port on a weekday afternoon are both usually avoided in early lessons. Parking is on-street and paid in most of the district, so lessons tend to start and finish at a learner's door. Dublin 4 sits on the DART line, with stations at Lansdowne Road, Sandymount and Sydney Parade, and buses run along the Merrion Road and through Donnybrook to the city. The closest test centre is Dún Laoghaire/Deansgrange, about 8 km south on the N11 or the coast road. Schools covering Dublin 4 tend to also cover Blackrock and Dublin 6, and a pre-test lesson will usually run down towards the centre at Pottery Road.
