Driving test at Leixlip: schools that prepare you
Leixlip is just over the county line in Kildare, but the RSA lists it under Dublin and it serves the west of the city: Lucan, Palmerstown, Chapelizod, Clondalkin and the Dublin 15 and 20 districts along the N4 corridor. Tests run from the Springfield Hotel on the Dublin Road, which makes for a quieter start than the city centres, with village streets, the R148 and the approaches to the M4.

Leixlip is a car test centre on the west side: what its roads are like
The Dublin Road through Leixlip is a two-lane road with a village centre, pedestrian crossings and a steep stretch down to the Liffey bridge, so hill starts are part of the picture. Tests head out towards Lucan, Celbridge and the Intel roundabouts, where lane discipline on large roundabouts matters. The housing estates on the Leixlip side are used for the manoeuvres.
