Driving schools in Clondalkin

Clondalkin is the village and suburb in Dublin 22, west of the M50, with the round tower at its centre and large estates on every side. For a learner it splits into two kinds of driving. The village has an old street layout, narrow in places, with a busy crossroads at the Ninth Lock Road and parked cars on the main street, so it is where schools go once the basics are in. The estates in Bawnogue, Rowlagh, Neilstown and the newer housing around Fonthill are wide, flat and built around roundabouts, with 30 km/h limits and speed ramps, and they are where most first lessons happen. The Fonthill Road and the Nangor Road are 50 km/h distributors that fill up with traffic to Liffey Valley and the industrial estates at peak times, and the N7 Naas Road is a short drive south for dual carriageway practice. Clondalkin has a station on the Kildare line, and buses run to the city centre and to Liffey Valley. Tallaght test centre is about 5 km south-east by the Belgard Road, and Leixlip about 9 km north-west along the N4. Most schools listing Clondalkin also cover Lucan and Dublin 24.
